We are very excited, to say the least, about our upcoming road trip to Washington, DC. We’ll be participating in the “Taste of Vermont” reception sponsored by Senator Leahy’s office and the Vermont Convention Bureau. Yesterday was a big day, too. We made up 125 boxes of our “Petit Pastries” for the Vermont Dieticians Association. We were a veritable assembley line of gluten-free goodness. I gotta tell ya, my brownies are amazing. They’re so chewy and delicious. The only problem is that they have a short shelf life. That is one of the issues I’ll be working on in upcoming Friday test kitchen sessions. We will let our readers know how it turns out.

Fridays are so fun at the bakery it is truly amazing. It’s what Lois calls “product development day” and we get to experiment and make new products. In the past few weeks we’ve perfected our cookie recipes, our brownie recipes, hamburger buns, and so many other forms of gluten-free deliciousness. It really is great to have an employer as supportive of her workers as Lois is. If you present her with an idea, it’s more likely than not that she’ll respond with, “try it!” I love my job.
